My Approach
I firmly believe that every client and project is unique and that the most effective design work comes from good collaboration between an organization and their designer. It should be enjoyable, efficient, and downright effective. I don't just follow a cookie-cutter approach because, well, there isn't one. I tailor my process and style to fit the specific needs of each project, ensuring the best possible results for you.
I'll hustle hard, keep you in the loop every step of the way, and I promise, no hidden fees or disappearing acts.
Whether we're crafting a brand from scratch or you're in need of a go-to designer for ongoing projects, communication is key. With experience and open communication, we'll build a partnership that lasts.

I once heard it said that creativity is like sports for people who are bad at sports, and let me tell you, I'm BAD at sports. My whole life I’ve been a creative type. Whether I was shooting photography or playing music in bands, the creative spark has always been at the core of who I am.
After wrapping up college in Montana, I made my way to Seattle. Before I knew it, I was back in school, this time diving headfirst into the world of design. I played in bands, worked in a record store, and learned the foundations of design that I still draw from today. Upon completing design school, I worked in a variety of contract positions, freelance gigs, and took on any and every opportunity I could find to develop both my skills and experience.
In 2007, I took the leap and founded Flying Eye Design. Since then, I've weathered a global financial crisis, a pandemic, and the rise of Taylor Swift, all while nurturing this creative studio. Along the way, I've had the privilege of collaborating with everyone from small startups to large national businesses. Through it all, one lesson has stood out: businesses and nonprofits need exceptional design and crave collaborators they genuinely connect with... someone they can trust, enjoy working with, and who can add a bit of humor into the mix (or awkwardness, depending on your sense of humor). Over the years, I've built enduring partnerships with clients, some spanning over a decade.
When I'm not immersed in the creative hustle at my office in Ballard, you'll likely find me hanging out with my 7-year-old twins and my wife, whom I met at the previously mentioned record store.
